Hello,
I'm using NX 12 and was asked to add a groove - square butt weld to this specific area shown in the screenshot. The two green hi-lighted areas are the faces I'm attempting to add the groove weld to. I keep getting the "Cannot prepare edges. Try selecting more tangent faces, or use the Weld Limits option."
I don't have much experience with groove welds, so this is definitely a learning experience for me. I've referenced the on-line help and "learning advantage" on the Siemens site, but the examples are simple and I'm not sure what to do for the Weld Limits. I'm just guessing, but it seems like the problem may be happening because of the tangent on one face or the one face ending before the other does.
Any recommendations for a solution? Thanks
