How complicated is post pensioned slab design for simple residential tract home type structures using PTI design methods and software?

My training in structural engineering ended in college with reinforced concrete design. I did fine in the class and all the concepts resonate. However, given the time away from school, it would probably take me a whole day to dust off my old notes and design a simply supported beam.

I provide PTI design parameters to structural engineers on a regular basis. The Volflo program is very easy to use, but there is some judgment that is required to mold the numbers into something usable for the structural engineer.

Considering I know what reasonable input parameters should be and I also know what typical foundation dimensions are, would it be advisable to try to design such foundations (small residential) without training under an experienced structural engineer, i.e. figure it out myself?
