Hi all,

I have an 18,000 gallon steel pressure tank that we are using to provide fire protection water in a rural location. NFPA 22-2008 section 7.1.10.4.1 requires "An approved cathodic system of corrosion protection...". Has anyone had to install a so called "approved" cathodic protection system. And does anyone know if we could get by with a few sacrifical anodes?

I suggest you post your question in the Metal and Metallurgy engineering portion of this web site. They have some wonderfully talented engineers who know much more about the science and chemistry of corrosion than you'll find in the NFPA forum.
