Hello everyone,
I've recently been hired on with an in-core sensor manufacturer and eventually I'll be doing all the mechanical design reports for the company. Unfortunately my predecessor seemed not to be very thorough at maintaining his source material. I have been reviewing past design reports to gain familiarity but have yet to find source material in our reference libary which would help me in understanding the theory behind the designs. Most of what we make falls under thin and thick walled tubes and cylindrical machined components of uniform cross sections. I need a recommendation on a text that will help me gain the required background knowledge. I have done some searches and a lot of people seem to suggest either Pressure Vessel Handbook by E. Megyesy or the Pressure Vessel Design Handbook by H. Bednar. Any comments on these or suggestions to alternatives would be appreciated.
