New position for Panars

Just thought I would let people know that I have a new job with the Ohio Dept. of Transportation. I am now in the Division of Construction in Central Office. I am the main contact person in ODOT for all geotech issues that arise during construction. I am also responsible for writing specifications and training.

In my former position with the Office of Structures, I was only involved with bridge foundations and retaining walls. So this move will expose me to a wider range of geotech activities.

Peter: Congratulations. You will now find a whole new ballgame out there! It is like going from baseball to cricket! My eyes have been widely opened once I got more into the construction of structures (highways, bridges, retaining walls) and see the multitude of problems associated with the designs, with the specifications, with contractor work methods and the like. Of couse, my areas are less complex in many things than in developed countries (our contractors would rather use labour than machines in many instances) - it'll be interesting! Any help I can be, please let me know.
