Actual I'm working on a feasibility study for Waste-to-energy incinerators in develop countries.

I am loking for an internet link or literature for global net calorific net values for solid waste from households (i.e. plastic, organic, paper) in develop countries, like africa, asia and south america.

I heard from "wet waste" in develop countries and it is not possible to adapt the european values to develop countries.
Example: Brazil gross NCV = 4,5-6,5, Europe: 9-11 MJ/kg!

Background is to calculate an average net calorific value for an incinerator plant to produce electricity. By reason for a feasibilty study, rough values are sufficent.

Thanks

From the literature, heating values of the main constituents of municipal and industrial refuse on a moisture- and ash-free basis, Btu/lb:

Wood 8,420
Brush 8,600
Plastic 18,000
Paper 7,900
Garbage 7,280

Have a look at:

Handbook of Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol 1, Chapter 42: Design Practices in Combustion and Incineration, Cheremisinoff - Gulf
