Hi Everybody,

I have a quick question about the Suction Pressure of a Pump.

I am reviewing a Datasheet and I looked at the Min Suction Pressure and it is Negative.

I was wondering if any of you can explain the meaning of this.

I was told that it was a estimation for the Vendor so that the Mechanical Seal selected by the Vendor can prevent Air
coming in to the Suction of the Pump.

I did not get that very well so a deep explanation would be very helpful and appreciated of course.

Thanks All,
Mech GRaduate.

Condensate pump. You will need external water flush to seal (from common discharge header) so there is still flush water even when the pump is not operating.

Otherwise, air will be sucked in across the seal faces, can cause chatter and destroy them.
