Negative exponential distribution

Someone know how to use a negative exponential distribution as a function to have control limits?, or know a good article or url about this distribution?

I can't remember much about a negative exponential distribution, but, usually, statisticians transform odd distributions into a normal distribution, and then use all the standard approaches on the transformed data.
