Hello

We are building a custom dado saw at work and I was just
wanted to ask you guys a couple of questions. First I need
a tool that will cut a 3-7/8" wide x 7/8" deep dado
(5 total), but we were thinking of hanging our motors
verticaly so would need a large type router bit; maybe
carbide insert type??. Does anyone know where I would
find such a tool??

Second, are there any calculations I can do to tell how
much force dado's 3-7/8" wide x 7/8" deep will produce.
The dado's will cut in 2x4 spruce and will be cut across the
wood, the 2" way.

Thanks,
Walter

The cutting regime (speed and feed), tool material, tool geometry including rake angle wood density, wood moisture, controls the power requirement. Consider looking at other existing tools and model after them. See info at <
