I need to produce a delta T of 40 deg F for 5200 gallons of water. I'm looking at either doing it in a tank or during transfer to a reactor. I have 4 to 8 hours per 5200 gallon batches to achieve and maintain the desired temp rise. This will only be used in winter months to raise city water from 45 to 85 deg F.

So far I have investigated immersion, recycle and tankless hot water heaters. Are there any other novel approaches. The plant does not have a boiler.

Thanks for your help.

How about a direct fired water heater, like from armstrong?
Otherwise you may want an electric heater in a tank and then try to boost the tempeature with an inline heater.
No boiler is a tough position.

Thanks Stonecold

I looked up the direct fire unit and this should work great.

tankless heaters from noritz can be linked and reach 94% efficency.
