Need the correct term

I photographed a curved dock like structure that's part of the Las Olas bridge in Fort Lauderdale, Fl

I named it "Curved Dock" for lack of a better word, but I'd like to find the correct term.

The word is "fender". That bridge is a "drawbridge" (double-leaf bascule). When the two leaves are opened for water traffic the fenders protect the bridge piers adjacent to the open span from being struck by waterway traffic.
