I have 800 gallon capacity plastic (LLDPE material) tank and I design the saddle (mounting platform) for this tank (with higher thickness and greater yield strength). To mount this assembly on our machine (Ag truck) I need to attach four leg of steel on the four corner of my saddle.
My question is for you guys what is the best option.
1. Use adhesive to bond steel and LLDPE.
2. Insert (extruded) steel in to rotational molding.
3. Use mechanical joint (nut and bolts) to attach steel plate with PE .
Some Main point
1. Tank is 60 X 64 X 45 inch (like cube)
2. Saddle gets some support from chassis frame.
My concern is
1. Is this bonding (non-mechanical) is enough to hold a wait around 7000-8000 pound.
2. Is there any other option I can choose
3. How strong is HDPE (if i choose HDPE v/s LLDPE) and Steel bonding with any good adhesive?
