The field covers a myriad sustainable strategies, ranging from lighting, insulation (not as crucial in large buildings with larger internal heat gains), haphazard air leakage control, mechanical ventilation and air quality, photovoltaics, wind-power, insolation control (either to keep the sun out or to invite it in, depending on whether your building is in a heating or cooling climate), low lifetime embodied energy, solar hot water heating, water resource control, waste disposal, and on, and on....
