To anyone familiar with both the NBC and IBC. I am from the U.S. and looking at bidding a project in Nova Scotia. Here is the design snow and wind load information:

Ground Snow Load => Ss = 2.2 kPa, Sr = 0.6 kPa
Hourly Wind Pressure => 1/10 = 0.40 kPa, 1/50 = 0.55 kPa

Can anyone give me a ballpark for the IBC equivalents. I can obviously do the conversions from kPa to psf, but not knowing the NBC, I do not know what other factors are involved, as to get an end result equivalent.

Of course, if we get the bid, we will get a Canadian Engineer for the final design.

Thanks.
