I am designing a natural gas fuel train. I have designed the system for 100ft/sec flow velocity. However, I must reduce down one pipe size to flow through a valve. Is there a recommended design velocity for natural gas? Through the reduced pipe section the velocity increases to 165ft/sec.

Is there any danger that the flow would become choked? I guess the only other concern you should have is the noise level. You should check the Mach number.
