Can any body tell me the usual values of first natural frequency of single storyed buildings which has only two rooms with construction under proper standards?
hi!
Maybe, Anyone can't do it for you.
First, if you want to find the usual value of first natural frequency of the building, you have to tell us about a rough width, a rough length and a rough height.
I think so....
I have measured several buildings and measured natural frequencies (first mode) in the range of 2 Hertz to 14 Hertz. Yes most buildings have natural frequencies below 10 Hertz. By buildings I mean fairly large structures in the order of 3000 metric tons and above. Smaller objects and lighter structures are anywhere above 100 Hertz. C. Hugh (
earthquakes are low frequency vibrations (in the range of 5-10Hz). buildings collapse when resonance occurs during earthquake. hence one can very well assume that building natural frequency is around 10.
