I just test drove the World Wind software by NASA. It is quite amazing. Link to the site is
Quite a large file for dialup folks, but if you have broadband, its worth the effort.

I would like to see further discussion on how this concept will evolve over the next five years.
 
Similar to Google Earth I think.

It is amazing and scary at the same time. local.live.com has limited amount of aerial bird's eye view of densely populated cities in the U.S. I hope no one uses this wealth of information to our disadvantage.
 
Both look to display rather impressive results. One thing I would like to see is how current the images are from one vs the other. Google of course likely charging a fee for more "current" images.

I can't help but wonder if this is the quality of "de-classified" images, what the quality of current technology is (not that I truly want to know).
