Hello.

I have a custom made crucible steel that reads out something like this;
C .50-.55 Cr .7-.95 Mn .65-.9 Mo .45-.55 Ni 4.0-5.0 P .1 S .04 Si 1.8-2.0 V .05 Fe Balance.

What commercially available alloy, does this come closest to? Thanks, Gerald

It looks like a NiCrMoV tool steel. Maybe a mold steel? The one that I think of has Al instead of Si, it is age hardenable.
There are a bunch of similar European chemistries, but I don't know anything about those alloys.

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.
