N2 injection to decrease water production

I have a gas well that was producing at relativly high rates but watered out. I am considering a downhole pump to deal with the water. The other option would be to inject nitrogen or air into the formation to push back the water and restore the gas relative permeability. Does anyone have any experience with this or know of any spe papers I can read?

Tried it in a subsea gas field development via the flow line - didn't work very well at all. In the final analysis it was considered that the relperm was not changed significantly to rejuvenate the wells. You might consider the addition of a chemical relperm modifier to the nitrogen which may improve performance? My experience is definitely not absolute, would definitely be worth seeing if any further commentary is forthcoming...Cheers...
