Hi all,
We're using SW2007 sp1.1 and until recently had network located toolbox. SW 2008 was installed and somehow changed all users to use locally located toolbox(?) Being the one using toolbox the most, I've copied my toolbox to a network location and asked all to change their toolbox.ini file to point there. Moving forward, and until 2008 is fully installed, all hardware should now come from the network in newly created assemblies. How does someone other than myself enter toolbox items they may have used, prior to the toolbox move, into the new toolbox location?

Hotiron,

You can get everyone's toolbox items to the network location but probably not how you are thinking of doing it. I would see which user has created the most configurations for each toolbox item and move that to the network location overwriting it.

Have the other users open all their assemblies that use toolbox items and if the configuration is not found they will get a message saying something to the effect of: cannot find size would you like SolidWorks to create it for you. They select "yes" and the configuration is added to the master toolbox item that resides on the network. Hope this helps...

There may also be a macro of some sort that will copy configurations from one file to the other. I remember seeing something like this that you could download but will have to post the link if I can find it. This may be the fastest way to accomplish your task.
