You really should do some research on this before you ask others for the answer. There is much information available from wall suppliers, in text books, and on the internet. You need to make an effort to get the information yourself.

Unless it's highly organic or the moisture content is excessive, I'd say you can use just about any compacted soil. Whether you want to or not is another question. What's critical for MSE wall design is to know the compacted soil properties. The wall is designed for the soil that you are using.

The best perofmrance for MSE walls comes from using the AASHTO specification. 100% passing 4 inches, less than 15% passing 75 microns, UC > 2 and PI < 6. In addition no shale, deleterious or organic materials. Chemical limits if you are using steel reinforcements. pH > 3 for all geosynthetics and < 9 for polyester reinforcements. A few other more minor points as well you can pick it up from the specificaiton.

The question is madde becuse I) have read different types of MSE ( Freyssisol, Reinforced Earth, and other patents and they have their own soil matherial propierties, and sometimes its varies too many in the Liquid limikta nad plastic index rataes and also in the part of soils that pas the 200 mesh.
