Hi everybody. I'm a new user of MSC Patran and I have some problems.
1) When I try to connect two meshed surface with a connector (using a point as connector location) I get the warning message "the connection location specified for the projection did not lie between the 2 surface. It was adjusted to [coordinates]". This is only a warning but then when I run the Nastran analysis I got the error "For CFAST element ID=.... , with form=elem or prop, the spot weld area lies outside the defined shell surface. The number of pairs of connecting shell element is 0 but 4 pairs are required". Do you know how to solve the problem?
2) to avoid that problem I want to create rbe3 connected with bar elements instead of creating connectors. However to create rbe3 I need a dependent node but instead of this node I have a geometrical point. Is there a way to project the points on a meshed surface and in the same time convert them in nodes?
Thank you in advance!
