I am having a problem using the move view command in I-deas
drafting. When I attempt to move some views in drafting mode the center of the view is off the sheet. I cannot grab the center so therefore I cannot move the view. Is there a way to change this view center?
Any help would be appreciated.

That view center is typically the global 0,0

The only way to move it is to move your entire assembly and or remodel the part closer to the global 0,0.

Why do you have to grab the center to move the view? I understand trying line up your views using view orgin.

If I-Deas is not prompting you for a start point I have a response in this forum on how to change this in your Masterdrafting.in or masterdrafting.mm file.

I'm not sure if I understand the problem... But can you delete the view and re-draw it? Thus placing the origin wherever you want?

add this line to your drafting defaults in or mm model

prompt_for_start_in_move_view=true
