Hi there,
I have a question regarding the main bearings in my motorcycle. It is a single cylinder supermoto bike. The problem is that the crank bearings are known to prematurely fail. The crank is a two piece press-fit and has been known to deflect under load at high rpm. The bearings are straight roller bearings and upon deflection are destroyed as the roller ends mill on the lip of the races from the immense side loading.
The known fix is to run ball bearings, but these are not as durable for sustained rpm use.
Is there any type of bearing that is a hybrid ball-roller bearing with barrel shaped rollers? Such a bearing would be ideal.
Thanks
