motion study vs Explode-Render-Animate

Hi,

I'm using Solid Edge v20, producing a series of animations. I can produce the movements I want in Motion study avi's (via displacement, not motors), however they lack the rendering and camera angle options you see in the Explode-Render-Animate tool.

Is there a way import Motion studies (not motors) into the ERA tool?
Or are there any add-ons or updated versions of Solid Edge which allow the combination?

I think the short answer to this is no.

The motion environment is pretty old and has not been touched for a long while. Its also based on third party technology.

The only way to get parts to move in ERA is to use motors, exploded views or the motion path command. If you are stuck with just Solid Edge then I would suggest the best way is to use ERA.

Alternatively a few people on here have been using the Bumkspeed Move application with some great results.

Thanks Jon, I had a hunch that was going to be the answer. I'll look into Bunkspeed Move, it looks awesome from the website, do you know if its able to import splines/csv files?

Hi not 100% sure on exactly what import formats are supported.
They do a free trial though so could be worth signing up for that.

Hypermove will import STEP files - that is your only option from SE.
I've been running a trial version for a few weeks.
The only problem I've found is that it seems to struggle with assemblies of even a few hundred parts.
If you notice, the demo's on the web site are fairly simple models so I suspect you would have to restrict the number of parts to just those that are absolutely necessary.
