I've been asked to design detached 30x48 residential storage building/garage. I'm considering a monolithic slab for the stick-built structure. Is there any limit to building footprint size in the IBC/ICC that would preclude this? I've seen some local codes limiting building size to 24x24 for this kind of structure, but I can't find any limits in the IBC/ICC. The project is in upstate NY.

ACI 318 would probably be your best source for slab sizes. I doubt IBC would have any limits on slab size. If your question is if the garage size is too big, check International Residential Code
