Monitoring a closed loop while intrinsically safe.

We are monitoring a portion of gas pipe using 12 guage copper tracing wire. Each loop needs to open a discrete input in the alarm state. Problem is the loop is 28000' and must be intrinsically safe(can't be a sourse of ignition).
