I am building a shuttle plate that has an interchangable adapater plate connected to it (see attachement). I am using a 3/4"-10 bolt to hold the adapter plate against the stops. The stops have 45 degree chamfers on them to push the adapter plate down. The bolt is at a 45 degree angle. I would really like to get away from using the bolt at a 45, but due to the lack of real estate, it is the only solution that I have come up with. There will be a load of 7000 lbs 4 inches from the neck of the bolt. The purpose of the bolt is to both hold the plate down and push it against the stops in one action. If anyone has a suggestion or another solution, I am all ears. Thanks in advance.
