modifying Gear part

Hi all

I had downloaded a gear prt file from proecentral files download area. It was submitted by Ravi from India.

I need to increase the thickness/width of the gear,but I am unable to do so. The gear tooth extrusion is driveb by a straight curve. But on modifying the length of the curve nothing seems to change. Please help me do it
