Modelling motorcycle parts

Hi Everyone,


I'm new to the forum - design engineer in the UK, using Wildfire 3, and have been using Pro/Efor about ten years now. I've been reviewing some of the posts over the last few months - this site is a pretty handy resource.


Aside from using Pro/E for work I am looking to construct a model of a Ducati motorcycle. I am looking to largelymodel most of the bike to my own design, but it would be handy if anyone know where I might be able to find a model of a Ducati engine (ideally the air-cooled 2v 900 motor)that I can use as a starting point?

The chances of you finding a model of the ducatti motor is slim to none. You will probably have a better chance walking outside on a clear day and being struck by lightning. All I can offer is to search for prints for it, you will likely need to purchase them. Or, you can model it from a picture.

I just saw a site that had a exploded view of the 900 desmo engine


So youshould find quite a bit a info... dimmed print ..I doubt it


there are good enough images to design it up in ProE

Thanks guys. Looks like I might just have to get myself out in the garage and start measuring the bike up instead then! I've got a 900 myself, I was just hoping to avoid the labourious process of modelling the engine.


Any sites with anything even vaguely relevant would be really appreicated though - send 'em on!

If your likely to find any you'll have to pay them but it could be cheaper then spending your time in the garage measuring instead of modelling. On the other hand you can never know how accurate they are ...


This one is free after registering, NOT native pro/e but at least you'd have something as a template
