Does anyone know of a site that has a comprehensive libray of switches modelled in solidworks? (for the project i am working on there a various telemecanique and omron components)

HAve you looked at CADregister.com. It is assocaited with the Thomas Register.

Try 3DContentCentral - what you need may be there already.

I've had to model most of my own. [sad]
