Am currently writing my thesis in the University, the title of my research - Finite Element Modeling of Cracking in block masonry load bearing wall subjected to axial compression. Please I would like to model the wall with macro modeling approach of modeling masonry wall. How do I start.

That's up to you.
Since most of us wouldn't use such a high powered computer analysis technique for such a simple problem, we wouldn't have any tips.

ok. Does any one know how to model a masonry wall in Abaqus/car? Assuming wall is 2D. What elements are likely to give a close result with that of experiment. Again can one make use of the elastic properties, such as Young's modulus and Possion's ratio mean while masonry is elastic-brittle material. Please can somebody give a tip?
