MODELING A TIMING BELT

HOW DO I ADD TEETH TO A VARIBLE BELT SWEEP
 
you can create one teeth and use command and create pattern using pattern along curve option

I could not get it using a curve pattern. I instead tried the old method of patterning the points and then reference patterning the protrusions. Picture is as below.
