I have a problem modeling a dowel column-beam connection. The dowel has a circular section. It is put trough the beam. There is a steel rectengular tube that goes throughout the whole beam heigth. Between the tube and the dowel there is a mortar feeling.
How do you advise me to model the contact beetween dowel and mortar? If I am more specific, I have a problem meshing these to together. Should I use Merge/Cut tool to Merge the meshes? Should I use contact interactions? Which finite element type should I use?
