What is the proper syntax to use after starting dmadmin and selecting ITEM and then RE. I am using I-deas 10 NX C3P on a unix platform.

It seems that the question that I asked is not the problem. After typing dmadmin.exe I get
SDRC_INSTL not set
Error opening I-DEAS parameter file
Error opening Data Management parameter file
Does anyone have any suggestions?

You need to source setup_varbs first. This sets all of the I-deas environment variables.

Thanks for your help. I have dmadmin working now. The following is what I get when using it.
Attempting to recover database file:
/data/mfs/jyoung_CMPD-7-INCH_071510.mf1
From shadow file:
/scratch/ideas4207.sf1 ...
The database file is in a state that requires it to be
recovered.
Enter (Y)ES to CONTINUE or anything to CANCEL the operation:
y
-Alert- The database file is in a state that requires it to be
-Alert- recovered.
Any suggestions?
