I have an odd problem never encountered before. Been working with SW since 2001, currently with 2017 Premium. My company has decided to sent a copy of our models out to a sister company in India for detail work. When the drawing is returned (also 2017), association to the model is lost (which I kind of expected would happen). If I try to re-associate the drawing and the model I have in my current directory with SW Explorer, I get an opening fault (An error was encountered while trying to open your file...); the drawing won't open. The end result is that I have now corrupted the drawing file that I received from India. Is there anything I can do to re-associate the model and the drawing? I have over 60 drawings that will need to be processed. Thanks ahead for the help! Dave.

Are you working in PDM or in directories?

Have the models changed on your side vs what was sent out for drawing creation?

Can you replace your models with the ones the India office used to create the drawings? You would go through the error resolution process with any assemblies you have on your side still but that should be easier to deal with than the drawings.

Maybe this is a dumb question but can you have them send the model files that they used/created/modified?
