After reading thread164-125000, my team and I are designing a 30" chlorine contact pipe loop to minimize the footprint and still achieve the designated chlorine contact time. However, the force on the pipe was found to be over 80,000lb. Does anyone have any details on fittings or thrust blocks?

You should be using a mechanical joint such as megalug to connect the PVC.

If you use HDPE, heat weld type fittings would also work.

As to pipes to handle the "forces" I agree strong restrained joint pipes are a good thought. Before selecting polyolefin class pipes as mentioned by another for services with maybe even elevated levels of chlorine contact, you might want to at least do a Google search to see if they are proper for such service. All have a good weekend.
