I am not sure which forum to post my question and please re direct me if I should go to a different forum.

I have a concern about the Mississippi River hydraulics when a large diversion
is added. Made some simple calculations showing the river will drop 8 feet when
the diversion is added. If I am correct seems like large scouring power
undercutting levees will be added upstream of the diversion with the power 50%
of a large nuclear plant. Please see linked a small article, calculations and
references. Could the 8 foot drop be correct and should I have a concern?
