I found this article today.
URS has agreed to pay over 50 million in damages but it admits no wrong doing. From the article, it appears URS didnt do the design, construction, or final inspection of the bridge, but did evaluate the fatigue and fracture properties of the bridge. Seems that it was best to settle rather than have a long drawn out court battle....
