While generating down time report and availability of the equipment monthly.

Why we consider DT = 1
MTTR - Mean time to Repair
MTBF - Mean time to Breakdown Fix

Can some one assist me.

Please post this in a .pdf or image format. Very few people will download an Excel spreadsheet onto their computer, due to the risk of viruses, etc.

Engineering is not the science behind building. It is the science behind not building.

MTBF means

Mean
Time
Between
Failures

Not 'mean time to breakdown fix'.

If you use your own definition of MTBF you're going to generate a LOT of confusion.

Where did you get this spreadsheet? From someone in your company? Then why not ask someone in your company instead of a bunch of random people on the internet?

You need to understand what you are reporting. You need to understand why you are reporting it.

The spreadsheet has "1" in the DT column to avoid a whole spreadsheet full of "divide by zero" errors. You are supposed to change that number to the actual quantity of downtimes. Then, MTTR will be the amount of downtime divided by the quantity of downtimes.

To whom in your company should I send the bill for training?
