Dear experts

shall we follow ACI-318 code for minimum reinforcement of slab for concrete duct banks or is there any topics i can follow for this issue?

Thank you

What level of crack control do you need?

Typically, duct banks are not considered structural concrete and as such are not bound by the minimum reinforcement requirements in ACI. I have seen many with little or no reinforcement perform very well. If it were my design, I would provide the minimum reinforcement for crack control even if it was not required by code

I agree with the others. Chapter 7 of ACI 318 lists minimum area of shrinkage and temp reinforcement. The values vary between .14% and .2% depending on the grade of steel used. Also, don't forget your minimum clear cover and maximum reinforcement spacing.

Unless they're deeply buried or very large I would just put in temp. & shrinkage rebar in a single layer, middle of the walls/slab. If they're getting driven over with little soil cover I might throw in some distribution rebar in the top and bottom slabs.
