Laumontite!!!! It's got a nice cation exchange capacity, only most web searches come up with mineral collectors' websites, because it's also kinda pretty. So I ask if anyone out there has some industrial experience with this zeolite. How well does it work for you? And were is a good place to get it in the -40 to -300 mesh range? Also, are there any other calcium rich (low sodium and potassium) zeolites you might also suggest in its place. Thank you in advance, all who reply.

Well, thank you for your reply, DeltaCascade. My objective is to remove a long-chained polymer with a quaternary amine group from our process fluid (basically to reclaim the fluid). We've tried cation exchange beads, and while they work in normal water, they do not work in the acidic conditions we're forced to deal with. So we tried natural zeolite (clinoptilolite) and found it to work very well at 325 mesh. However, it pollutes the system with high levels of Na, K, and Ca.... So we plan to polish the system off with cation exchange beads to remove these metals. Calcium appears easier to remove than Na and K, so a laumontite seems a great alternative to clinoptilolite because it has no Na or K it its empirical formula. It also has a CEC double the clinoptilolite. That's the background on what I'm looking for. Have you experience with these or similar materials?
