We have a project where the bearing material is micaceous sand. We are setimating bearing capacity and settlement and wondering how to estimate how the soils will behave when loaded. We're using an ASCE reference, Foundations and Excavations in Decomposed Rock of the Piedmont Province, that has some good information but are looking for more sources. Does anyone know of any good sources, case studies for this type of soil?

No references, just a word of caution: remember that consolidation theory assumes that the soil grains are incompressible. Micaceous soils violate this assumption. And don't expect to get reasonable "B" values from triaxial tests!
