Initially I thought the motor size(s) mentioned by the OP were somewhat small for space heater installation.
Yet, I did find a photo in my collection of an installation in progress on a motor that looks to be a 10 to 15 HP unit.
The photo attached shows an end bracket removed from a pump motor to install a flexible style heater.
