I am trying to verify if 29 ga. mcelory maxi-rib panels are sufficient for the permanent bc lateral bracing of a wood truss roof (are the panels a rigid clg. diaphragm?). The trusses are scissor trusses spaced at 4' o.c. and spanning 60 ft. The building is 80' long. I question if the panels are good enough on their own, or, if we should add clb's.

I spoke with an engineer from Mcelroy regarding this question. He confirmed that the 4' spacing is probably too much for this panel. He recommended at 24 ga. panel, or, choosing the mega-rib panel (1 1/2" ribs) at 29 ga. Or, of course we could use the maxi-rib if we added clb's at 24" o.c.

Thanks for your response
