i try to hexmesh a solide i imported from Catia, but i systematically obtain the following message.(i get the same message when i try to hexmesh a simple 3D tube)
"Either mesh on surface are not fully maped or base and top surface mesh do not match"

This could happen if you define the volume by specifying surfaces in the wrong order. If you are meshing a cube, you need to define the surfaces for the volume in the following order: bottom, top, and then the sides. I am not sure how you want to mesh the tube, but you might try breaking up the tube into halves or quarters.

Either slicing or solid embedding of the object is not properly done.
Other option is to map the mesh on suface and then do mesh extrude.
