Hi,
does anybody know any good source of complete explanation of the Merker's theory for tilting-pads bearings?

Thanks in advance,

Regards

I don't know who Merker is, but typing "tilting-pad bearings" into google gives plenty of results.

Yeah, unfortunately none is useful (I went on until the 32nd page, then I gave up), I already tried it together with various mixes of "Merker", "bearing", "journal bearing", "tilting-pads" etc.

However, for those who might be interested (? maybe no-one...)I found Merker's dissertation on the calculation of plain and tilting-pads radial bearings: it's in VDI Reihe 11 Nummer 33 (Aug. 1980).
Only in German...
