Merging point Clouds with catia?

Do any one know how to productively merge point clouds from scanners??? I have 55 scanners and want to merge the using DSE and quick surface reconstruction. I tried it and found it quite hard, so i might be doing something wrong, or may be i'm trying to use the wrong software. I also been told to use rapidform.... which i have the posibility to work with
