merging boundary blends

I posted this question in the drawing forum, but i was brought aware that it is a modeling issue.

i made a model out of boundary blends and i want to merge them together so i can solidify the model.

i am having trouble because even though i merge my belnds it doens't look like they are connected. also there are other holes in my drawing that i can't seem to close for the solidify tool.
the solidify tool gives me the error, "failed to intersect."

i have posted a pic with circled areas to show some problems im having.

pic don't work... Try converting back and forth from intersect to join and or vise versa.
