I was wondering if anyone knows where i can find a mechanically driven flow timer/controller that would enable only a certain amount of liquid to flow through a pipe and then shut off mechanically. Do these exist and if so, what are they called? thanks.

Neptune meter (I believe, it's been a long time) at least used to make one. I saw them primarily on fuel oil applications, like delivery trucks, but also on water. They really slammed shut when the set point was made, though. This was a problem on the water application, as it was after a heat exchanger, and the steam control valve had trouble reacting fast enough to the sudden loss of load, and the safety valve kept lifting.

I think Neptune was bought out by someone - Schlumberger?
